Colba Tannery’s production factory is located in Modjo and has a soaking capacity of 10,000 skins and 600 hides per day. The tannery is prioritizing research and development (R&D) as one of the fundamental keys to future success as a partner of finished leather customers Worldwide.

Opportunity for the production

We assess the capacity of production for both skin and hide on the basis of wet end and dry end, respectively. According to skin, a maximum capacity of 165,000 skins/month is achievable given the number of machines and processing time. The dry portion has a monthly capacity of 280,000 pieces.
In terms of hide production, the monthly capacity is 12,610 pieces, which equates to 485 hides per day.
If we want to increase our capacity and the market forces us to create more, we have the option of using production output.

The average selling price per square foot for sheep, goats, and cows is (1.2 USD 1 USD 1.08 USD) sqft.
The entire sales value for the fiscal year from export and domestic sales is birr 195,493,200. The entire amount will be birr 400,285,200.
